We have been working with Ziggy May for the past 6 months with our reactive, anxious dog. He has made amazing progress with the training techniques they teach us. I used to feel so much anxiety just taking him on a walk. Now, I feel confident with the tools we have learned and we are able to have successful walks. Chelsey and Ella are great at explaining the reasoning for their methods and making things simple and easy for us to follow. They check in regularly to support our learning outside of training sessions. Working with them has really strengthened our relationship with our dog. We would highly recommend them! Julie & Steve

Alice

I cannot speak highly enough of Ziggy May and the love, care and gentleness they showed to our two dogs Alice and Gertie. We had to be careful to say her name around our dogs because they'd get SO excited if they knew they were going to see her. I'm talking waiting at the door howls and barks. We're also a little embarrassed to say how much better they became walking on leashes for US after Ziggy May started their magic. They see dogs individually for their needs and personalities as opposed to treating it as a one bark-fits-all approach. I fully and heartily recommend Ziggy May Training for anyone who has the need! You will be so pleased. Kevin and Lisa Malcolm

These ladies are amazing! I didn’t understand how much of the training was for us. We needed to learn how to effectively communicate with our dog. Chelsey and Ella took us thru this process with such skill and kindness. Our sweet Husky, Miss Lady was NOT leash trained when we adopted her, (she was 3) We have had her for 2 years. When we walked her prior to her training it was not difficult to see who was in charge….Not us! Ziggy May Training has made the walk a fun time to be had by all. We are in control and Miss Lady is comfortable with the new standards. At first I thought this would mean she wasn’t having as much fun but, I can see that she is loving the results and she likes having a job! Some of our hurdles that training has solved; She could be reactive to other dogs / No longer lunges and we can pass on leash without drama! She pulled like crazy on the leash / She can now heal with or without the leash. Our commands were not relevant / We are now the parents and we are in charge! Yeah! We are having a blast with our new skill set as well as Miss Ladies! I would recommend Ziggy May’s training process to anyone who wants to enhance the relationship they have with their dog. Chelsey and Ella were an absolute delight to learn from and spend time with. Thanks Ladies! Jacci and Miss Lady Miller

I have a very sweet but difficult dog that has separation anxiety and as a result, likes to shred and eat my bedding/other items when I am away from home. I knew I needed to crate her but was totally unsure of how to do that correctly. I had heard amazing things about Ziggy May Training and so I reached out for their help. They have been instrumental in the crate training process and have gone above and beyond for both me and my dog. We can not thank Chelsey and Ella enough and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Selby

Selby the dog sitting in the grass

Ziggy May the dog whisperers! :) We have been with them for a couple of years now and she is absolutely amazing. We have a dachshund mini, Selby, and he is the cutest thing ever, but he has some issues with barking, reactivity, anxiety, and behavioral problems. A couple of years ago, a serious ear injury made the reactivity and behavioral problems suddenly way worse—to where we were really worried about what would happen with him and whether we could ever have the same relationship with him. We tried several dog schools and trainers—one trainer in particular came highly recommended and was quite pricy—but none of them had any noticeable effect on his behavior and temperament. The trainers didn’t work and we didn’t know what to do. But then by a stroke of luck we met Ziggy May and everything changed. As soon as they started working with us and Selby, we started noticing a difference immediately. First of all, Ziggy May was more clear, specific, practical, and active than all the previous trainers we tried. Where another trainer would spend a whole session telling us to reward the behavior we want, give treats before the aggression starts, ignore bad behavior, etc., Ziggy May would say: OK, let us see what you do in this situation and how he reacts. They asked the right questions and watched Selby closely, listened to us, and then would correct the way we approached the situation and help us read Selby’s cues and body language better. They showed us how to give him more structure and guidelines to reduce his stress and to keep him calm and happy rather than nervous and reactive. As a dachshund, Selby is independent-minded so we were never able to get him to obey instructions very well. But now having worked with Ziggy May, Selby is great at things like staying in “place” for long periods of time (often through dinner, etc) and going into his kennel on command. Overall, he is a calmer, happier dog. His barking (a big issue before) is totally under control now, and if we need to we can put him in “place” and he calms down. We are still working on certain things, but he’s getting much better with recall and he’s way better on the leash while on walks. Most importantly we have our sweet little pup back: we can take him to family gatherings with people and even other dogs and he is so well behaved that people comment on how good he is. I would highly, highly recommend Ziggy May to anyone interested in real results with your dog and greatly improving your relationship with your pet. Ziggy May is also wonderful to work with: cares about their work, explains things really well—not just what to do but why and the logic behind it—and they obviously has a natural gift for working with animals (which is actually very rare from what I’ve seen) … and also with people. They taught us how to understand and communicate better with our little buddy, how to build up trust with him, and they has made our relationship with our furry family member better and more enjoyable for all. They are a life saver. --Alex Bove
